Scottish Premier League Announces Record Profits

The SPL has announced record-breaking profits having generated £23m for 2007-08 according to PricewaterhouseCoopers. During that period eight clubs reduced debt, two reported no debt and all but one broke even.

St. Mirren were the SPL's most profitable club having sold their ground for £9.2m and Hearts were the only club to report a loss. During that season Celtic and Rangers each received income from progress in Europe, reaching the last 16 of the Champions League and the UEFA Cup Final respectively.
