At the recent Official Football Hospitality Awards 2009 organised by Stadium Experience, the FMC sports, leisure and hospitality team at Chelsea Football Club was awarded the title of Directors' Choice in the Premier League.
Select Directors from Premier League football clubs judged and rated Directors' Lounges at Premier League stadiums during the season's away games against 32 stringent criteria including: pre-match marketing; cleanliness; the efficiency of bar and waiting staff; pre-match catering and half and full-time hospitality. During the 19 Premier League games played at Stamford Bridge this season, Directors enjoyed VIP dining and entertaining in the lavish Armani Lounge, so named after Georgio Armani. Pre-match canapés, champagne and a three course meal, half-time snacks and post-match high tea is the typical fare Directors enjoy at a match at Stamford Bridge.
The FMC team, which is part of Compass Group UK &Ireland and has provided the catering and hospitality at Stamford Bridge for four years, was successful in beating 19 clubs to gain the title of Directors' Choice.
Matthew Thompson, Managing Director, sports, leisure and hospitality at Compass Group UK &Ireland said, 'It is an honour to win the Directors' Choice Award and we are very proud of the achievements of the FMC team at Stamford Bridge. Compass Group UK &Ireland has extensive catering and hospitality experience at high profile venues, serving meals with a focus on seasonality and the highest quality produce. It is fantastic that the results of such experience were recognised at Stamford Bridge with this award.'
