Chelsea's new Assistant Manager, Bruno De Michelis, and former England Coach, Steve McClaren are now to join the stellar line up of elite coaching talent on stage on 8th October at Chelsea FC at Leaders in Performance.
De Michelis has been credited with Chelsea's new mental toughness - reference a stronger nerve in the Community Shield penalty shoot out with Man Utd and in a recent interview, Sun reporter Ian McGarry explained, 'Combined with Ancelotti's technical prowess, the marriage of evolutionary sports science and proven motivational techniques could prove a winning one. One it comes to a 12th man, there is almost no oneyou would rather have on your side'.
Chelsea's performance director, Mike Forde, also a speaker at the event adds, 'Leaders in Performance aims to provide a greater understanding of how elite sports can cross-fertilize; to engender greater co-operation; and to show that football can reach out from its position of financial strength and help other sports- and learn from new areas of best practice at the same time.'
Steve McClaren admits that the England job should have been his 'last' as opposed to his 'next'. His record with Manchester United, Middlesbrough and now FC Twente however speaks for itself and shows that you really cannot keep a good man down.
Leaders in Performance is a unique event where 150 global sports leaders who make sporting performance their business come together to share best practice. The event will run concurrently alongside the second day of 'Leaders in Football', the world's most exclusive football business event, thereby creating a unique networking and elite performance strategy discussion.
